In 2016 the longstanding trustee and internationally renowned potter Alan Caiger-Smith MBE (1930-2020) stood down after 25 years of service to the Foundation. One of his lasting achievements during this long tenure was during his final year, when he became the catalyst behind a short film produced to promote the activities of the RFA.

The film celebrates the ambitious and unique project which aimed to enrich the lives of local people and enhance the cultural fabric of the town by building an art collection for the people of the City. To celebrate the achievements of the Reading Foundation for Arts this short film was made to share this Philanthropic Model and the Art Collection which now holds over 150 items of National and International importance.
